MUMBAI – Cochin Shipyard Ltd. was named the lowest bidder for an INR-50-billion order from the Ministry of Defence. The order is to build five next generation survey vessels for the Indian Navy, according to an exchange filing Monday.
The company expects the final announcement of the contract once few formalities are done. For the December quarter, Cochin Shipyard had reported a net profit of INR 1.45 billion on a revenue of INR 13.50 billion. Monday, the company's shares closed marginally lower at INR 1,469.40 on the National Stock Exchange. End
