MUMBAI – Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. Friday reiterated its gross margin target of 35-40% for 2026-27 (Apr-Mar), it said in a post-earnings letter to shareholders Friday. In the December quarter, the company delivered a consolidated gross margin of 34.3%, expanding 15.7% on year and 3.4% on quarter, driven by vertical integration, Gen3 economics, and disciplined execution, Ola Electric said.

With the heavy capital expenditure now behind, as the final phase of its Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu is set for completion by March, the company's focus will now be on growing its revenue potential of INR 150 billion to INR 200 billion over the next few years, Ola Electric said. It expects operating expenditure to reach a steady-state of INR 2.50 billion to INR 3.00 billion over the next couple of quarters with the outcome of the structural actions it took this year fully flow through. In the December quarter, the company's operating expenditure was INR 4.84 billion. "At a steady-state opex of INR 2.50 billion to INR 3.00 billion per quarter, EBITDA (earnings before interest taxes, amortisation and depreciation) breakeven reduces to 15,000 units per month, Ola Electric said. "Approximately 85-90% of our consolidated opex is fixed, with only 10-15% variable. Beyond the breakeven threshold, incremental volumes translate into strong margin flow-through," it said.

During the December quarter, Ola Electric delivered 32,680 units, way lower than the 84,029 delivered in the corresponding quarter. It produced 72,418 units of batteries in the reporting quarter, up from 38,080 units in the trailing quarter. Revenue from the company's automotive segment more than halved on year to INR 4.67 billion.

Ola Electric announced its December quarter earnings post-market hours Friday. Its consolidated net loss for the quarter narrowed to INR 4.87 billion from INR 5.64 billion a year ago and its revenue slumped 55% to INR 4.7 billion.

Friday, shares of Ola Electric Mobility closed 0.3% lower at INR 30.89 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
