Gujarat govt appoints Uday Kotak chairman of GIFT City

MUMBAI – The government of Gujarat has, through a resolution Friday, appointed veteran banker Uday Kotak chairman of Gujarat International Finance Tec-City Co. Ltd. with immediate effect.

 

Kotak takes over from Hasmukh Adhia, former finance secretary to the government of India and currently principal adviser to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. Adhia had been serving as non-executive chairman of the board of directors of GIFT City since Jun. 19, 2023.

 

Kotak is the third chairman of GIFT City. He will remain in office until further orders. The government resolution said the terms and conditions of Kotak's appointment will be decided separately.  End
