MUMBAI – Siemens Energy India Ltd. is expected to post a double-digit year-on-year rise in both net profit and revenue for the December quarter on the back of strong execution in the power transmission segment. However, on a sequential basis, the company's performance on both metrics is expected to fall in the reporting quarter.
Siemens Energy is expected to post a net profit of INR 2.25 billion to INR 3.03 billion for the December quarter, according to estimates from three brokerages. The highest estimate of INR 3.03 billion for the net profit is from Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. and the lowest estimate of INR 2.25 billion is from Prabhudas Lilladher Pvt. Ltd. The third estimate of INR 2.80 billion is from HDFC Securities Ltd.
The company is expected to report net sales of INR 19.00 billion to INR 19.94 billion for the December quarter. The highest estimate of INR 19.94 billion is from Motilal Oswal and the lowest is from Prabhudas Lilladher. HDFC Securities has estimated the company's net sales at INR 19.40 billion.
"We expect Siemens Energy to register a revenue growth of (about) 25% YoY (year-on-year) led by strong execution in Power Transmission segment and better growth in Power Generation segment against lower base in Q1SY25 (Oct-Dec 2024)," Prabhudas Lilladher said.
Siemens Energy has a comprehensive portfolio of products, solutions, and services designed to strengthen and expand grid infrastructure, addressing the growing demand. It ensures grid stability amid the integration of renewable energy sources, supported by project management hubs.
The company is expected to post earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation of INR 3.14 billion to INR 4.09 billion for the December quarter, according to the three brokerages. The highest estimate for the company's EBITDA is from Motilal Oswal and the lowest is from Prabhudas Lilladher. HDFC Securities has estimated the EBITDA at INR 3.70 billion.
"EBITDA margin is likely to expand by (about) 85bps (basis points) YoY (year on year) led by better operating leverage partially offset by lower gross margin," Prabhudas Lilladher said. The company's EBITDA margin is also expected to improve sequentially on better pricing, Motilal Oswal said.
Siemens Energy India, which had hitherto been following the Oct-Sept financial year, is in the process of switching to the financial year starting Apr. 1. The change was approved by its board of directors at a meeting on Aug. 8. To facilitate the change, the company is treating the current period as a one-time transitional financial year of 18 months, starting Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Mar. 31, 2026. Accordingly, the Oct-Dec quarter of 2025 is being considered the fifth quarter of the financial year ending Mar. 31.
Siemens Energy will announce its earnings for the December quarter Friday. Thursday, shares of the company ended 2.5% higher at INR 2,731.30 on the National Stock Exchange. The stock has fallen almost 12% since the company announced its earnings for the September quarter.
