Amara Raja incorporates subsidiary in US, plans to begin making batteries

MUMBAI – Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd. has set up a wholly-owned subsidiary in the US called ARE&M US Inc., according to an exchange filing Wednesday. The company plans to invest $5 million in the subsidiary with the intention of starting the manufacture or assembly of batteries in the country to improve customer services.
The subsidiary will distribute batteries and components in the US. Amara Raja wants to increase its presence in the country, it said. The company Wednesday said its consolidated net profit for the December quarter was INR 1.52 billion on a revenue of INR 33.51 billion. Its stock closed slightly higher at INR 911.70 on the National Stock Exchange. End
