--Tata Motors CV domestic sales 38,844 units in Jan, up 29.1% on year

--Tata Motors total CV sales 41,549 units in Jan, up 29.9% on year

 

HYDERABAD – Tata Motors Ltd., formerly known as TMR Commercial Vehicles Ltd., on Sunday reported a 29.9% on year rise in its commercial vehicle wholesale sales in January at 41,549 units. The growth was driven by most segments, especially heavy commercial trucks, the company said. Domestic sales rose by 29.1% on year to 38,844 units and exports increased 42% on year to 2,705 units.

 

Domestic heavy commercial truck sales rose 41.2% on year to 12,691 units, while intermediate, light, and medium truck sales grew 33.5% on year to 7,071 units. Passenger-carrier segment sales for the month declined 0.4% year over year to 4,562 units. Sales of small cargo and pick-up vehicles rose 29.5% to 14,520 units.

 

Tata Motors was demerged, with Tata Motors housing the commercial vehicle business and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. housing the passenger vehicle business.

 

At 1210 IST, Tata Motors shares were at 451.60 on the National Stock Exchange, down 1.5% from the previous close.  End
