MUMBAI – Eicher Motors Ltd. Sunday said it sold 104,322 Royal Enfield-branded motorcycles to dealerships in January, up 14% on year. The company exported 10,541 motorcycles in January, up 5% on year. 

Sales of motorcycles with an engine capacity of up to 350 cubic centimetres stood at 92,998 units in January, up 18% on year. Despatches of motorcycles with engine capacity over 350cc fell 8% on year to 11,324 units. Sales of these premium motorcycles have fallen year-on-year for the third consecutive month.  

 

In Apr-Jan, Eicher Motors sold 1.03 million Royal Enfield motorcycles to dealerships, up 25% on year. Exports in this period expanded 30% on year to 109,731 units. 

 

The company had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 13.69 billion for the September quarter, up over 24% on year, on revenues of INR 61.72 billion, up 45% on year. At 1144 IST, shares of the company traded 0.7% lower at INR 7,068 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
