HPCL partners with deep-tech startup Maraal Aerospace, invests INR 20 million

MUMBAI – Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd Friday said it has executed a share subscription and shareholder agreement with Maraal Aerospace, an incubated deep-tech startup from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. The oil marketing company said in an exchange filing that it will invest INR 20 million in the startup, with the aim of accelerating product development, testing, and system validation, and enabling faster product realisation and scale-up.
Maraal Aerospace is developing a solar-powered long-endurance drone powered by clean-energy propulsion.
For the December quarter, HPCL reported a net profit of INR 40.72 billion on a revenue of INR 1.24 trillion. On Friday, shares of the company closed over 1% lower at INR 427 on the National Stock Exchange. End
