HPCL signs pact with Abu Dhabi co to procure LNG for a 10-yr term

NEW DELHI – Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd. Monday said it has signed a sale purchase agreement with the UAE's Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Co. for the supply of liquefied natural gas for a 10-year term. Under this agreement, HPCL will get LNG at its storage and regasification plant in Chhara, Gujarat, it said in an exchange filing. 

 

"The supplies under this agreement will support the requirements of it's own Refineries, City Gas Distribution (CGD) network and Gas demand across key sectors like Fertilizers, Power, Petrochemicals and other Industries, thus meeting the nations growing and evolving energy needs," HPCL said in a statement. HPCL's Chhara unit can store and regasify 5 million tonnes of LNG per annum.

 

For the quarter ended September, Hindustan Petroleum Corp. had reported a net profit of INR 38.30 billion on total income of INR 1.10 trillion. Monday, its shares closed 1% lower on the National Stock Exchange at INR 453.20.  End
