NEW DELHI – AWL Agri Business Ltd., earlier known as Adani Wilmar Ltd., Monday said volumes during the December quarter grew in low single digits, supported by an uptick in edible oil and food and fast-moving consumer goods segments, but dragged down by weakness in the castor and de-oiled cakes segment. "Festive demand was relatively subdued during the quarter as trade continued to operate with lean inventory levels," the company said in an exchange filing.

Volumes of AWL Agri's edible oil segment grew 3% on year in the December quarter and 2% in Apr-Dec. Growth in this category was led by strong performance in mustard oil and improved traction in palm oil, while sunflower oil sales remained flat amid elevated inflationary pressures, the company said.

Food and FMCG segment's volumes fell by a percent in the December quarter and a sharper 10% during Apr-Dec. Excluding government-to-government rice business, food and FMCG segment's volumes grew 3% in the December quarter but fell 1% in Apr-Dec. Its industry essentials segment reported a 7% fall in the latest quarter but an 8% growth in Apr-Dec.

"The Food & FMCG business has shown a gradual recovery over recent quarters with improved offtake, on the back of multiple interventions and improvements in the rice business," the company said in the filing. Other than its rice and wheat business, AWL Agri's food and FMCG segment had reported a volume growth of over 30% in the final quarter of 2025.

Growth momentum continued in the alternate trade channels such as e-commerce, quick commerce, and modern trade, as volumes through these channels grew 42% on year during the December quarter. "The channel recorded a revenue of ~INR 4,800 crore in the last twelve months. The strong momentum in channel was led by record 65% YoY volume growth in Quick Commerce," the company said. AWL Agri is rationalising its marketing spends towards alternate channels as the competition is increasing there.

HoReCa, or Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering segment, and branded exports of edible oil and foods recorded a 'strong' double-digit volume in the December quarter. AWL Agri's total outlets grew 18% on year to 950,000 outlets during the quarter. "Having significantly scaled distribution over the past 3–4 years, particularly across rural markets, the focus has now shifted towards consolidation and improving efficiency," the company said.

For the quarter ended September, AWL Agri Business had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 2.45 billion on a revenue of INR 176.05 billion. On Monday, its shares closed 1.05% lower on the National Stock Exchange at INR 233.80.  End
