MUMBAI – Hero MotoCorp. Ltd. Thursday reported a 40.5% year-on-year rise in total sales in December to 456,479 units, driven by robust demand, continuation of the momentum picked up during the Oct-Nov festival season, and new launches, the company said in a press release. The company said it recorded 291,732 registrations on the government's VAHAN portal in the month. It also said the performance of its internal combustion engine scooters and electric scooters portfolios was strong.

 

The company's domestic sales jumped 42.5% on year to 419,243 units in December. For the quarter ended December, domestic sales grew 14.6% on year to 1.59 million units. In exports, Hero MotoCorp reported a rise of just over 21% on year to 37,236 units in December. For the quarter ended December, it exported 102,185 units, compared with 72,470 units a year ago.

 

The company's motorcycle sales in December rose 35% on year to 402,374 units. Scooter sales doubled on year to 54,105 units. For the December quarter, the company's total sales rose 16% on year to 1.70 million units. Domestic sales grew 15% on year to 1.59 million units in the period.

 

During the third quarter of the financial year 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), the company sustained positive traction across key markets with 41% growth in exports, supported by new market entries and portfolio expansion, it said in the filing. For the quarter ended September, the company had reported a net profit of INR 13.93 billion on a revenue of INR 121.26 billion. Thursday, the stock ended over 1% higher at INR 5,841.50 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
