NEW DELHI – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Thursday said it sold 86,090 units of its passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles to dealerships in India and overseas in December, registering 25% growth year-on-year. Its exports fell 9% on year to 2,820 units.
In the domestic market, the automobile major sold 50,946 utility vehicles in December, up 23% on year. Sales of light commercial vehicles with load capacity below 2 tonnes rose 13% on year to 2,720 units during the month, while sales of light commercial vehicles with a payload capacity between 2 and 3.5 tonnes rose 37% on year to 22,066 units. The company sold 7,538 three-wheelers at home in December, up 31% on year.

In the first nine months of 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), the company sold 476,476 utility vehicles in India, up 18% on year. Sales of light commercial vehicles with load capacity below 2 tonnes fell 4% on year during the period to 27,416 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles with a payload capacity between 2 and 3.5 tonnes rose 16% on year to 185,012 units. M&M's three-wheeler sales at home in the nine months rose 28% on year to 82,446 units.
The company's exports in Mar-Dec rose 25% on year to 30,061 units.
TRACTOR SEGMENT
M&M's farm equipment business sold 31,859 tractors in December, up 39% on year. Of these, 30,210 units were sold in the domestic market, registering growth of 37% on year. The remaining 1,649 units were sold in the overseas markets, up 78% on year.
In the first nine months of FY26, the company sold a total of 406,592 units, reflecting a rise of 21% on year. Sales at home grew at the same 21% rate during the period to 391,890 units, while exports rose 20% on year to 14,702 units.
"Cash flow availability in the market has improved, supported by favorable crop yields following the kharif harvest. Additionally, conducive weather conditions and healthy reservoir levels have contributed to increase in Rabi sowing acreage, which is expected to sustain tractor demand in the coming months," said Veejay Nakra, president of the company's farm equipment business.
For the September quarter, M&M reported a net profit of INR 45.21 billion on revenue of INR 350.80 billion. At 1102 IST, shares of the company traded at INR 3,758 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.3%. End
