NEW DELHI – Escorts Kubota Ltd. Thursday said its tractor sales in December rose 39% on year to 7,577 units. Domestic sales grew 36% on year to 6,828 units, while exports were up 64% on year at 749 units in December.

Escorts Kubota said domestic performance in December remained strong on the back of supportive government policies, lower goods and services tax rates, and continued state subsidies that enhanced affordability for farmers. Further, the industry benefitted from a strong kharif output, enhanced rabi sowing as compared to last year, increased water availability, and positive rural sentiment, all of which contributed to heightened retail demand, the company said.

In the December quarter, the company sold 36,955 tractors to dealerships in India and overseas, up 14% on year. In Apr-Dec, the company sold 101,413 units, up 14% on year. "With these encouraging factors in place, the industry is poised to sustain its growth momentum in the upcoming months," Escorts Kubota said.

The company sold 812 units of construction equipment in December, 7% lower on year. "Sales volume for December 2025 is not comparable to December 2024, which saw pre-buying ahead of emission norm changes last year, however there is visible improvement in sentiment in December compared to previous months," the company said.

Sales by its construction equipment division in the December quarter fell 14% on year to 1,716 units. In Apr-Dec, sales of Escorts Kubota's construction equipment fell 18% on year to 3,917 units. "In the short run, the construction equipment industry continues to face challenges from slow project mobilization, and weak rental rates & elevated costs from construction equipment vehicles Stage-V compliance, though government infrastructure spending and fund-flow initiatives are expected to support gradual recovery into 2026," it said.

For the September quarter, Escorts Kubota reported a net profit of INR 3.21 billion on revenue of INR 27.77 billion. At 1001 IST, shares of the company traded at INR 3,805 on the National Stock Exchange, up 2.3%.  End
