KOLKATA - Renault India Pvt. Ltd., wholly-owned unlisted subsidiary of French automaker Renault Group, Friday said it will raise prices of its vehicles in the country by up to 2% from January.

The price increase will vary across models and variants, the company said in a statement. It said the increase had been necessitated by rising input costs and prevailing macroeconomic factors.

In November, Renault India had reported a 30% increase in its wholesale sales volumes at 3,662 units, primarily driven by the Triber and Kiger models. The company reported sales of 2,064 units of the Triber, up 39% on year. Sales of the Kiger increased 48% on year to 1,151 units.

In January, the Indian unit of the French automobile manufacturer is also expected to launch a new version of its Duster sport utility vehicle.
