Tata Motors PV records over 70,000 bookings for Tata Sierra on opening day

NEW DELHI – Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. Wednesday said its premium mid-sized sport utility vehicle, Tata Sierra, received over 70,000 order confirmations as bookings commenced on Tuesday. Additionally, around 135,000 customers have submitted their preferred configurations and are progressing towards booking formalities, the company said in a release.

 

The company launched the renewed iconic SUV on Nov. 25. Its prices start at INR 1.15 million and go up to INR 2.13 million, ex-showroom, across seven trims. It has three powertrain options – the 1.5 litre Kryojet Diesel, 1.5 litre TGDi Hyperion petrol, and the 1.5 litre Revotron Petrol.

 

For the September quarter, the company had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 761.70 billion on revenues of INR 723.49 billion. The company had recorded a one-time gain of INR 826 billion following the demerger of its commercial vehicle operations.

 

At 1314 IST, shares of the company traded 0.7% higher at INR 347.85 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
