NLC India arm, PTC India in JV to develop green energy projects

AHMEDABAD – NLC India Ltd.'s wholly-owned subsidiary NLC India Renewables Ltd. has signed a joint venture agreement with PTC India Ltd. to establish a green energy joint venture, the company said in a filing with the stock exchanges Friday.
As per the filing, the joint venture will undertake the establishment, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hydroelectric, battery energy storage systems, green ammonia, and other emerging green technologies.
The collaboration envisages the development of green energy capacity of up to 2,000 megawatt, to be implemented in phases. The first phase will target around 500 megawatt.
The joint venture will enable both organisations to pool their strengths in project development, power trading, renewable energy park creation, and integrated green energy solutions, as per the filing.
NLC India had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 6.65 billion for the September quarter on a revenue of INR 41.78 billion. PTC India had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 1.91 billion for the same quarter on a revenue of INR 54.59 billion. Friday, shares of NLC India closed 3.2% higher at INR 243.90 on the National Stock Exchange. Those of PTC India closed 0.6% higher at INR 155.90. End
