NEW DELHI – InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. Thursday said its budget carrier IndiGo will offer travel vouchers worth INR 10,000 to customers who were affected by the multiple cancellations between Dec. 3 and Dec. 5. They can use the vouchers for travel with IndiGo in the next 12 months, it said.

"This compensation is in addition to the commitment under the existing Government guidelines as per which, IndiGo will provide compensation of INR 5,000 to INR 10,000 depending on the block time of the flight, to those customers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of departure time," the company said in an exchange filing.

The company also said that all destinations in its network have been fully connected since the last three days, with operations being rationalised since Tuesday. Other than negligible cancellations due to weather-related or technical issues, IndiGo said there have been no cancellations in the last three days. IndiGo expects to operate over 1,950 flights per day, carrying around 300,000 customers.

Late Tuesday, the Centre had curtailed IndiGo's flight routes by 10?ter the company cancelled hundreds of flights per day in the first week of this month. Before this curb, IndiGo was operating around 2,300 flights per day. The company is India's top carrier with a 65% domestic market share.

A writ petition in connection with these recent cancellations has been filed before the Delhi High Court. While it was listed for Wednesday, the case has been adjourned for further proceedings following a preliminary submission by the parties involved.

For the quarter ended September, InterGlobe Aviation had reported a net loss of INR 26.14 billion. The company's revenue for the quarter was INR 185.55 billion. On Thursday, its shares closed 0.3% higher on the National Stock Exchange at INR 4,819.  End
