HYDERABAD - The Telangana government has signed memoranda of understanding for investments worth INR 5.75 trillion during its two-day Telangana Rising Global Summit held in Hyderabad, the state government said in a press release on Tuesday. The agreements were spread across energy, pharmaceutical, electronics, fast moving consumer goods, education and entertainment sectors, the release said.

 

The energy sector alone attracted investment agreements worth INR 3.24 trillion, which would generate 140,500 new jobs in the state, the government said. Energy sector agreements for setting up green energy, solar energy, and battery storage energy systems projects.

 

Among the agreements signed, Aurobindo Pharma has proposed an INR 20 billion investment to expand its capabilities in complex generics, injectables, oral solid formulations, biosimilars and biologics. The project is expected to create more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs over the next two to three years, further deepening the company's footprint in Telangana's life sciences ecosystem, the state government release said.

 

Granules India plans to set up advanced manufacturing facilities for peptides and establish a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation unit, focused on oncology products. The company has proposed an INR-12-billion investment and the government plans to allot 100 acres within the upcoming Green Pharma City. The project is expected to generate 2,500–3,000 direct jobs over the next three to four years.

 

Meanwhile, Zen Technologies Ltd. committed an investment of INR 50 billion. 

 

In the electronics segment, Kaynes Technology India Ltd. is investing over INR 10 billion as part of its current expansion in Telangana. The investment underscores the state's growing appeal for high-value electronics contract manufacturing and its ambition to become a major player in the national electronics supply chain.

 

Reliance Consumer Products Ltd., Godrej Agrovet Ltd., Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd., Adani group are among the companies that signed the MoUs during the summit, according to the release.  End
