NEW DELHI - Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. on Monday said it will soon launch its latest premium sport utility vehicle model XUV 7XO, which will be inspired by its top-selling SUV model XUV700. Further details about the model are expected to be made public on Jan. 5, according to an exchange filing by the company.
"Designed to reinforce Mahindra's leadership in the premium SUV space, the XUV 7XO is set to lead the way again for the SUVs of tomorrow," the company said in a press release. According to media reports, the Mahindra XUV 7XO will likely retain the same engine options as its predecessor -- 2.0 litre turbo petrol and 2.2 litre turbo diesel -- alongside a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed torque converter automatic.
M&M had launched the XUV700 in August 2021 and it has been amongst its best-selling models since. Buyers of this model have preferred the diesel variant more than the petrol variant. In October, M&M sold 7,766 diesel variants and 2,373 petrol variants of the mid-size premium SUV. Production of the model slowed down year-on-year in October. M&M had sold 56,336 utility vehicles to dealerships in November, up 22% on year.
For the September quarter, M&M reported a net profit of INR 45.21 billion on revenue of INR 350.80 billion. At 1321 IST, shares of M&M traded 0.7% lower at INR 3,691 on the National Stock Exchange. End
