MUMBAI – Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd. Friday said its consolidated stainless steel sales increased 7.5% on year and 2.3% on month to 6,518 tonnes in November. The average sales realisation for the segment increased 14.3% on year to INR 142,442 per tonne in November, according to an exchange filing by the company.
The company's consolidated aluminium foil sales declined 4.6% on year and rose 40.7% on month to 1,926 tonnes in November. However, the average realisation of aluminium foil increased 6.7% on year to INR 372,339 per tonne, the company said. Its consolidated pellet sales saw an increase of 131% on year and 13% on month to 102,561 tonnes and its average realisation rose 1% on year to INR 9,021 per tonne in November.
The metal player sold 133,231 tonnes of carbon steel in November, up nearly 1% on year. However, the average price realisation of the segment fell over 9% on year to INR 39,567 per tonne. The sales of sponge iron fell 7.7% on year and 9.6% on month to 75,936 tonnes in November, with the segment's average price realisation declining 11% on year to INR 22,140 per tonne. The Kolkata-based company's specialty alloys sales increased nearly 20% on year and 20% on month to 19,432 tonnes in November and its average realisation fell 0.7% on year to INR 93,619 per tonne.
The consolidated cold rolled coil sales increased to 15,218 tonnes in November from 1,140 tonnes a year ago. However, the average realisation of cold rolled coil increased 25% on year to INR 74,653 per tonne for the month, the company said. Its consolidated pig iron sales increased to 55,425 tonnes in November, as against 2,820 tonnes a year ago and its average realisation fell 11% on year to INR 31,594 per tonne.
For the quarter ended September, Shyam Metalics and Energy reported a consolidated net profit of INR 2.62 billion on consolidated revenue of INR 44.57 billion. Shares of the company Friday closed 0.2% higher at INR 802.90 on the National Stock Exchange. End
