--IFC invests $50 mln in Gujarat Fluoro arm for battery materials facility 

 

MUMBAI – Gujarat Fluorochemicals Ltd. Friday said the International Finance Corp. is investing around $50 million in the company's subsidiary GFCL EV Products Ltd. by subscribing to compulsorily convertible instruments to build India's first integrated battery materials facility. The unit will drive high-value manufacturing, create jobs, strengthen India's position in global supply chains, and advance national priorities of energy security, transport electrification, and local value creation, the company said in an exchange filing.

 

GFCL EV has fully integrated manufacturing capabilities for battery chemicals with backward integration into key raw materials. Its current product portfolio, catering to both the electric-vehicle and energy-storage sectors, includes battery chemicals--electrolyte salt LiPF6, electrolyte formulations, additives for enhanced performance--cathode active materials, and binders, the company said.

 

Gujarat Fluorochemicals had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 1.79 billion for the September quarter on a revenue of INR 12.10 billion. At 1503 IST, shares of the company were up 0.8% at INR 3,375.30 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
