NEW DELHI – Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. recorded its highest-ever total monthly sales volume of 229,021 units in November, up over 26% on year. Of these, 182,964 units were sold in the domestic market, up nearly 20% on year. This is inclusive of the 8,371 units sold to other original equipment manufacturers during the month, down over 3% on year. The company also registered an all-time monthly high in exports at 46,057 units in November, up nearly 61% on year.

 

The auto major's sales in the compact segment, which includes models such as Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR, rose almost 19% on year in November to 72,926 units. Sales of mini cars - Alto and S-Presso – rose almost 27% on year to 12,347 units during the month. 

 

Maruti Suzuki sold 13,200 units of its only van model, Eeco, in November, up from 10,589 units in the same month last year. Sales of utility vehicles such as Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victors, and XL6 rose almost 23% on year in November to 72,498 units.

 

Sales of the company's only light commercial vehicle, Super Carry, grew almost 24% on year in November to 3,622 units.

 

APR-NOV SALES

In the first eight month of the ongoing financial year, Maruti Suzuki sold 1.53 million units, up 5.3% on year. Of these, 1.24 million were sold at home, largely unchanged on year. About 284,820 units were exported by the company in Apr-Nov, reflecting growth of 35.6% on year. Sales of utility vehicles by Maruti Suzuki declined 1.2% on year to 467,448 units during the eight months.

 

For the September quarter, Maruti Suzuki reported a net profit of INR 32.93 billion on revenue of INR 421.01 billion. On Monday, shares of the company closed 1.2% higher on the National Stock Exchange at INR 16,097.  End
