EIA says US natural gas stocks down 11 bcf in week ended Nov 21

MUMBAI – US natural gas inventories fell 11 billion cubic feet in the week ended Nov. 21, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was nearly 4.2% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The total working gas in underground storage was 3.94 trillion cubic feet as of Nov. 21, nearly 1% down from the previous year. The stocks were 160 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 3.8 trillion cubic feet, the report said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. The east, midwest, and pacific saw a fall in their inventories, while the south central, which includes salt and non-salt regions, saw a rise. Inventories in the mountain region remained unchanged. At 0841 IST, the most-active January contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was at $4.646 per million British thermal units, up nearly 2% from the previous close. End
