Piramal Finance to start offering gold loans at 100 branches FY26, says CEO

HYDERABAD - Piramal Finance Ltd. is planning to offer loans against gold soon through 100 select branches in the current financial year 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), Jagdeep Mallareddy, chief executive officer – retail finance, told Informist on Thursday. The company has 517 branches spread across 423 towns and cities. The company Thursday launched campaign on its retail lending operations in Telangana.
Mallareddy said the launch of gold loan services is part of its long-term retail strategy. The company is focused on tier-III and tier-IV towns for its retail loan book growth. He said the company aims to take the retail loan book to 85% of the total assets under management in FY26 against the 82% now. He reiterated that the company's total loan book may rise to INR 1.5 trillion by FY28 against the INR 914.5 billion as of Sept. 30. Out of the total loan book, INR 500 billion was mortgage loans like housing and loans against property, he said.
The company, formerly known as Piramal Capital & Housing Finance Ltd., reported a consolidated net profit of INR 3.27 billion for the September quarter, up from INR 1.63 billion a year ago. The consolidated revenue for the quarter was INR 28.72 billion, against INR 23.65 billion a year ago. The consolidated total income for the quarter was INR 29.00 billion against INR 24.52 billion a year ago.
On Thursday, shares of Piramal Finance closed 1.4% lower at INR 1,573.80 on the National Stock Exchange. End
