Sitharaman chairs review meet to discuss corporate affairs facilitation

NEW DELHI – Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman Tuesday chaired a review meeting with Registrar of Companies and Regional Directorates to discuss issues related to processing of forms, fast tracking mergers, smooth delivery of services like incorporation or voluntary exit of companies through central facilities, e-governance, and harmonisation of forms. Minister of State for Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra and Corporate Affairs Secretary Deepti Gaur Mukherjee also attended the meeting in New Delhi.
During the review meeting, Sitharaman directed the ministry to build a live dashboard and to ensure that more transparency is brought to the systems, the corporate affairs ministry said in a release. As a way forward, the Union minister exhorted ministry officials to find effective ways to convey legal requirements to stakeholders and also suggested holding frequent in-house discussions to suggest measures for enhancing ease-of-doing business, the release added.
Minister Malhotra said that the ministry must conduct exercises to rationalise and reduce the forms vis-a-vis compliance burden on people. "He suggested that frequent interactions with stakeholders will help to resolve issues in time," the release said. "He also suggested that the ministry can explore to host a corpus of electronic guidance in the form of videos and presentations to help stakeholders further." End
