MUMBAI – KEC International Ltd. Wednesday said it has an unexecuted order book of INR 393.25 billion with Power Grid Corp. of India Ltd. accounting for 15% of the orders. The company also said it has a robust tender pipeline and is confident of achieving its annual order intake target, according to an exchange filing by KEC International.

Power Grid Corp. blacklisted KEC International for a period of nine months starting Tuesday for alleged transgression of contractual provisions and a corruption-related matter where the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested some officials of both companies in an INR 250,000 bribery scandal. However, KEC International said in the filing that it does not foresee any material impact on its ongoing operations or financial position.

So far, the company has achieved an order intake of INR 170.66 billion, registering a growth of 17% on year. The share of Power Grid in this order intake is around 4% as compared to its share of about 27% in the previous year's intake, KEC International said. It has a tender pipeline of over INR 1.80 trillion and a "healthy L1 (lowest bidder) position" of over INR 40 billion, KEC International said.

The company said in the filing that it is examining various options, including approaching Power Grid to reconsider the matter and taking recourse to legal action.

For the September quarter, on a consolidated basis, KEC International reported a net profit of INR 1.61 billion on a revenue of INR 60.92 billion. Power Grid reported a net profit of INR 35.55 billion in Jul-Sept on a revenue of INR 100.00 billion. At 1449 IST, shares of KEC International were down nearly 10% at INR 706.35 on the National Stock Exchange. Shares of Power Grid were up slightly at INR 275.  End
