Bajaj Holdings to complete stake buy in two insurance cos in a few months

MUMBAI – Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd. plans to complete the acquisition of Allianz SE's stake in two insurance companies, now called Bajaj Life Insurance Ltd. and Bajaj General Insurance Ltd., in the next few months, according to a filing on exchanges late Monday. Bajaj Holdings got necessary approvals related to the acquistion, the company said.
In March, Bajaj Holdings had laid out plans to buy nearly 20% stake in the two insurance companies after Allianz SE wanted to exit these companies. The remaining 6% stake of Allianz SE in each of the two companies will be bought by Bajaj Finserv and Bajaj group company Jamnalal Sons Pvt. Ltd.
For the September quarter, Bajaj Holdings reported a consolidated net profit of INR 15.59 billion and a consolidated revenue of INR 3.97 billion. Shares of the company closed at INR 12,124 per share on the National Stock Exchange on Monday, down 3.6%. End
