Govt restricts unstudded platinum jewellery imports till Apr-end

NEW DELHI – The government has amended its import policy of unstudded platinum jewellery pieces to "restricted" from "free" category with immediate effect till the end of April, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification on Monday.
Unstudded platinum imports now require a licence or permission from nominated agencies as notified by the Reserve Bank of India or the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. Earlier, imports were allowed under the "free" category. By restricting imports, the government aims to enable monitoring, origin control, and compliance checks. End
