ED arrests Jaiprakash Power Ventures' Non-Executive Chairman Gaur under PMLA

MUMBAI – Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.'s Non-Executive Chairman Manoj Gaur was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate under certain provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, on Thursday, the company said in an exchange filing. The allegations pertain to his role at Jaypee Infratech Ltd., which was acquired by Suraksha Realty.
The allegations also relate to his role at Jaiprakash Associates Ltd., which is currently undergoing corporate insolvency proceedings. Jaiprakash Power does not see any adverse impact on the working of the company as the offence is not related to its operations.
For the September quarter, the company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 1.82 billion on revenues of INR 14.38 billion. On Thursday, its shares closed at INR 17.94 on the National Stock Exchange. End
