MUMBAI – Asian Paints Ltd. Wednesday said it has postponed commercial production at the proposed water-based paint manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh. The company will now begin operations at the plant within three years of receiving environmental clearence. It had earlier planned to do so within three years of acquiring the land.
The company has filed for environmental clearance with the Madhya Pradesh government's Cabinet Committee of Investment Promotion. The plant will have an annual capacity of 400 million litres. It is being built with an investment of INR 20 billion.
For the September quarter, Asian Paints reported a consolidated net profit of INR 9.94 billion on a consolidated revenue of INR 85.31 billion. Wednesday, shares of the company ended over 4% higher at INR 2,769.80 on the National Stock Exchange. End
