Tata Steel Q2 consolidated net profit rises nearly 4 times to INR 31.02 bln

MUMBAI - Tata Steel Ltd.'s consolidated net profit for the September quarter surged over 272% to INR 31.02 billion, from INR 8.33 billion a year ago. The net profit beat analysts' estimate of INR 27.67 billion. The steel major's consolidated revenue for the quarter was INR 586.89 billion, up nearly 9% from INR 539.05 billion a year ago.
