Concessionaires of Mozambique block lift force majeure, says Oil India

MUMBAI – Concessionaires of Area-1 Offshore Rovuma Basic Block in Mozambique, southern Africa, have lifted force majeure on the oilfield, Oil India Ltd. said in an exchange filing Monday. Oil India has 4% stake in the Mozambique block through the joint venture Beas Rovuma Energy Mozambique Ltd.
The oilfield was shut in 2021 on security concerns in Cabo Delgado, Mozambique. Oil India's joint venture had planned to develop two liquefied natural gas trains with a capacity of 13.12 million tonnes per annum. "The joint venture has successfully secured 11.13 MMTPA (million metric tonnes per annum) of long-term LNG sales with key LNG buyers in Asia and Europe including India," Oil India had said in its annual report for the financial year 2024-25 (Apr-Mar).
For the June quarter, Oil India had reported a net profit of INR 8.13 billion and revenue of INR 50.12 billion. Monday, shares of the company closed slightly lower at INR 431.80 on the National Stock Exchange. End
