Indian cos' FDI in overseas JVs, arms declines 31% MoM in Oct to $3.14 bln

NEW DELHI – Foreign direct investment by Indian companies in their overseas joint ventures and subsidiaries fell 31% on month to $3.14 billion in October, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Monday. Outward foreign direct investment by Indian companies was $4.55 billion in September and $3.76 billion in October 2024.

 

Of the total overseas investments in October, companies invested $1.85 billion as equity, lower than $2.59 billion invested in the previous month. Companies committed $738.69 million in loans in October against $978.46 million in September.

 

Companies also invested $549.40 million through guarantees to their overseas arms and joint ventures in October, lower than $990.42 million a month ago. The data, based on online reporting by authorised dealer banks, is provisional and subject to change, the RBI said.  End
