--[I] GE Vernova T&D to invest INR 8.06 bln to expand capacities at three units

NEW DELHI – GE Vernova T&D India Ltd. has got approval from its board to invest INR 8.06 billion towards expanding existing transformer and reactor capacities at its Vadodara, Gujarat, factory and switchgear products at the Padappai and Hosur factories in Tamil Nadu, the company said in a stock exchange filing Monday. "The Investment shall also include establishing new manufacturing lines for Air Core Reactors and Bushing at our existing facility at Hosur," the company said.

It said the capacity expansion will be completed in three years, starting in 2026 and "tentatively" till the end of 2028. The investment will increase existing transformers and reactors capacity "by more than 50% and up to 25% for GIS (gas-insulated switchgears) and AIS (air-insulated switchgears) products", the company said.

The investment will be funded through internal accruals, the company said. The rationale for the new investment was the "growing demand for power transmission equipment and (to) serve... customers in domestic as well as export markets," it said.

At 1432 IST, shares of the company were at INR 3,212, up 5.7% on the National Stock Exchange.  End
