NLC India to hive off 7 renewable energy assets to arm by Dec 31

NEW DELHI – NLC India Ltd. will hive off seven renewable energy assets to its wholly-owned subsidiary NLC India Renewables Ltd. by Dec. 31. The company said in a stock exchange filing that on Friday, it entered into an agreement with the subsidiary for the transfer of these assets with a total capacity of 1,430 MW.
NLC India did not specify the consideration to be received for the transfer of these assets, but said the consideration would be paid by the subsidiary by way of issuance of equity shares or "acknowledgement of debt". "The consideration shall be adjusted based on revised opening balance sheets of renewable energy assets...on the date of transfer." The company said the revenue from the seven assets being transferred was INR 7.02 billion in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), which was 4.6% of the company's revenue.
On Friday, shares of NLC India closed at INR 262.30, down 0.6%, on the National Stock Exchange. End
