Shree Cement Q2 net profit rises nearly three-fold on year to INR 2.77 bln

MUMBAI - Shree Cement Ltd.'s net profit for the quarter ended September rose nearly three-fold to INR 2.77 billion from INR 931.30 million a year ago but fell short of analysts' estimate of INR 3.9 billion. The company's revenue for the quarter rose over 15% to INR 43.03 billion from INR 37.27 billion a year ago. Analysts had pegged the revenue at INR 43.59 billion. The company's board has announced an interim dividend of INR 80 per share and set Monday as the record date.
