JSW Steel Q2 consolidated net profit surges 270% on year to INR 16.23 bln

MUMBAI - JSW Steel Ltd.'s consolidated net profit for the September quarter was INR 16.23 billion, up a whopping 270% from INR 4.39 billion a year ago. However, the net profit fell short of analysts' estimate of INR 17.81 billion. The company's consolidated revenue rose nearly 14% to INR 451.52 billion from INR 396.84 billion a year ago. Analysts had pegged the revenue at INR 444.74 billion.
