--Mahindra group signs pact for govt's medium transport aircraft programme 

 

NEW DELHI - Indian multinational conglomerate Mahindra Group has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer for the latter's C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft. "The agreement builds upon the Memorandum of Understanding signed in February 2024 at the Embassy of Brazil in New Delhi, deepening the scope of cooperation to include joint marketing, industrialisation and developing India as a hub for the C-390 Millennium," Mahindra Group said in a statement. 

 

As part of the agreement, the two companies will advance the C-390 Millennium as a solution for the Indian Air Force's medium transport aircraft programme. "Embraer and Mahindra Group will work closely with stakeholders in the country and engage with India's military and aerospace ecosystem to identify opportunities for local manufacturing, assembly facilities, supply chain and MRO activities," the company said. The aircraft, which can transport cargo and troops, is also equipped to conduct airdrops, medical evacuations, and search and rescue operations. 

 

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. is the automotive and farm equipment arm of Mahindra Group. For the June quarter, M&M reported a net profit of INR 34.50 billion on revenue of INR 341.43 billion. At 1358 IST, shares of M&M traded 2% higher at INR 3,633.80 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
