NEW DELHI – The Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal Tuesday admitted Prudent ARC Ltd.'s petition to start insolvency proceedings against Rbep Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., formerly known as Reliance Big Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. Prudent ARC said that Rbep had unpaid dues of INR 561.91 million.

The tribunal appointed NPV Insolvency Professionals Pvt. Ltd. as the interim resolution professional of Rbep Entertainment. It declared a moratorium on Rbep Entertainment under Section 14 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016.

Rbep Entertainment had sought a loan from Central Bank of India, the original lender, of INR 500 million in 2012. On account of a default in repayment of loans, Rbep Entertainment's account was declared as a non-performing asset in 2020. Thereafter, Central Bank of India filed the insolvency petition against Rbep Entertainment. In 2024, the loan account of Rbep Entertainment was assigned by Central Bank of India to Prudent ARC.  End
