AHMEDABAD - Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. is in talks to manage two properties that Adani group plans to build at Ahmedabad airport, two sources in the know of the development told Informist.

"There is a limitation of a 15-metre height due to operational airport, so both the hotels would not be high-rise of more than 150-200 rooms," a senior company official with direct knowledge of the development told Informist. Adani group had earlier announced plans to construct two premium five-star hotels near the international terminal at Sardar Vallabbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad at a cost of INR 15 billion.

Indian Hotels already has six hotels across its brands in Ahmedabad – the luxury 315-room hotel Taj Skyline, Gateway Ahmedabad, Vivanta Ahmedabad, and three properties of Ginger Ahmedabad. All these hotels have a total of nearly 1,000 rooms.

Separately, Adani group is also in talks with Marriott International Inc. to manage a 400-500 room luxury hotel that Gautam Adani-led company is building near its headquarters in Shantigram township of Ahmedabad. Marriott, through its franchise, already has four operational properties in the city.

At 1313 IST, shares of Adani Enterprises were at INR 2,555.70 per share on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.5%. Shares of Indian Hotels Co. were up 0.6% at INR 736.70.  End
