BHEL files plea in Jaipur court to execute INR-1.08-bln award in its favour

NEW DELHI – Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. on Thursday filed a plea in a Jaipur commercial court to execute an arbitral tribunal's award asking Rajasthan Rajya Vidhyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. to pay INR 1.08 bln to the company. 

 

According to an exchange filing by BHEL, INR 254.8 million of claims were allowed in its favour with respect to a Kota 7 project. In addition, the arbitral tribunal had allowed claims of INR 280.4 million in BHEL's favour relating to the Suratgarh 6 project. The arbitral tribunal had also allowed claims of INR 542.30 million towards BHEL with respect to the Chhabra 1 & 2 projects.

 

An execution petition is a formal legal application to a court to enforce a court judgment or decree. It is filed by the decree-holder to compel the judgment debtor to fulfill the court's order, such as paying debt, returning property, or performing a specific action.

 

BHEL had reported a net loss of INR 4.55 billion for the June quarter on revenue of INR 54.87 billion. On Thursday, shares of BHEL ended unchanged at INR 239.04 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
