MUMBAI – Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. expects its standalone business to deliver mid-single-digit value growth for the September quarter, led by low single-digit underlying volume growth, it said in an exchange filing Tuesday. The company said its consolidated revenue growth for the quarter in rupee terms will likely be in mid-single digits.

Godrej Consumer also said its profitability at the consolidated level will likely see a short-term impact from the goods and services tax cut in India, which was implemented in the September quarter. Consequently, the consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation are also seen declining, as per the filing.

Across categories, the company's home care portfolio will likely post high-single-digit value growth in the reporting quarter. Its personal care segment is likely to post a low-single-digit decline in value, largely due to the soaps category, Godrej Consumer said.

Under Godrej Consumer's international portfolio, Indonesia continued to witness high competitive pricing across key categories, which is likely to result in a low-single-digit decline in value growth, the company said. This decline in value growth is despite slightly positive underlying value growth in the South-East Asian country. Its other markets – Africa, the US, and West Asia – are likely to post a strong growth in the top line for the third quarter in a row, Godrej Consumer said. "It is expected to deliver double-digit value and volume growth," the company said.

For the June quarter, Godrej Consumer had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 4.52 billion on a consolidated revenue of INR 36.62 billion. On Tuesday, shares of the company ended slightly higher at INR 1,152.80 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
