Tata Motors Jul-Sept production rises 9% on year to 235,904 units

MUMBAI – Tata Motors Ltd.'s total production in the September quarter rose over 9% on year to 235,904 units, according to an exchange filing. The company published its production data across multiple models and segments, including compact, utility vehicles, fully-built buses, bus chassis, tippers, haulage, and tractors.
The company produced 35,635 units of compact models such as Zest, Bolt, Tiago, Tigor, and Altroz in Jul-Sept, rising over 31% from 27,156 units reported a year ago. Nearly 40,000 units of Ace, Ace Ex, Ace Zip, Yodha, Super Ace, Intra, Ace Mega, Xenon, and 207DI were produced in the September quarter, registering a 33% growth from the year-ago production of 29,761 units.
The company produced 1,906 units more of Magic Express, Magic, and Magic Iris models than it did in the year-ago quarter. A total of 3,977 units were produced in the reporting quarter, up 92% from 2,071 units produced in the year-ago period.
Tata Motors produced 34,936 units of Tippers and Haulage in Jul-Sept, slightly higher than the 34,067 units produced in the year-ago quarter. The production of tractors with suitable trailers declined over 1% on year to 8,746 units.
Its utility vehicle production declined 0.5% on year in the September quarter to 105,268 units. This includes vehicles such as Nexon, Punch, Curvv, Safari, Harrier, Sumo, and Hexa. The production of fully-built bus and bus chassis was 7,758 units, which was 102 units lesser than the 7,860 units produced in the year-ago quarter.
Tata Motors had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 39.24 billion for the quarter ended June on a consolidated revenue of INR 1.044 trillion. On Monday, shares of the company ended marginally lower at INR 712.65 on the National Stock Exchange. End
