--Govt: Several farm, dairy pdt exports to Bhutan exempted from any curbs
NEW DELHI – The government has allowed free export of several agricultural products, including wheat and dairy items, to Bhutan with immediate effect, according to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade notification on Friday. "Export of agricultural commodities listed......to Bhutan are exempted from the applicable restrictions and prohibitions, with immediate effect and until further orders," it said.
Indian exporters are allowed to freely ship milk and cream varieties, potatoes, tomatoes, lentils, tea, onions, and shallots to Bhutan, as per the notification. Other items are wheat flour, wheat (excluding durum wheat or pasta wheat and seed for sowing), meslin, and rice. India has curbed exports of wheat and atta to ensure a comfortable supply in the domestic market, but has made an exception for Bhutan.
India has also allowed free export of edible oils such as soyoil, groundnut oil, mustard oil, palm oil, safflower oil, cottonseed oil, and fractions of these oils to Bhutan. Salt and sugarcane products, such as cane or beet sugar and molasses, can also be freely exported, the notification said. End
