MUMBAI – India's services trade surplus in August declined to $15.60 billion from $16.45 billion in July, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Tuesday.
Services exports rose 2.7% on year to $31.19 billion in August and services imports fell 5.3% to $15.59 billion. Services exports and imports were at $33.74 billion and $17.29 billion, respectively, in July. For Apr-Aug, India's services exports were $162.36 billion and imports were $82.39 billion, working out to a surplus of $79.97 billion.
The central bank releases provisional monthly data on India's services trade. This data may undergo revision when the balance-of-payments data are released on a quarterly basis. End
