India Jul outstanding NRI deposits at $167.86 bln, up $10.71 bln on year

MUMBAI – Outstanding deposits by non-resident Indians rose to $167.86 billion at the end of July, up $10.71 billion from a year ago, according to provisional data released Wednesday by the Reserve Bank of India. The outstanding NRI deposits were at $168.33 billion a month ago and at $157.16 billion a year ago.
Deposits in non-resident (external) rupee accounts were at $102.03 billion at the end of July, up from $99.98 billion a year ago but down marginally from $102.75 billion a month ago. Outstanding deposits in foreign currency non-resident (banks) accounts were at $33.58 billion at the end of July, similar to the level a month ago. Outstanding FCNR(B) deposits were at $28.57 billion a year ago. End
