EPFO adds net 2.10 mln subscribers in July, up 5.6% on year

--Govt: EPFO net added 2.10 mln members in July, up 5.6% on year
NEW DELHI – The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation net added 2.10 million subscribers in July, up 5.6% on year, the labour ministry said Tuesday. In June, EPFO had added a record 2.19 million members on a net basis.
Of the net subscribers added in July, around 979,000 came under the social security cover of the EPFO for the first time. The first-time members included around 280,000 females, the ministry said. Around 598,000 new members added in July were aged 18-25 years, and constituted 61.1% of the total new subscribers added during the month.
The top five states accounted for 60.9% of the net payroll additions, or around 1.28 million members added during the month. Maharashtra accounted for 20.5% of the net new members added. The EPFO payroll data is provisional and subject to revision. End
