--L&T's renewables vertical in MoU with ACWA Power for Saudi Arabia project

 

MUMBAI – Larsen & Toubro Ltd. Monday said its renewables vertical has signed a memorandum of understanding with ACWA Power to establish a collaborative framework for the design of the renewables and grid scope of the  Yanbu Green Hydrogen Hub in Saudi Arabia, the infrastructure major said in a press release. The renewables and grid scope of the project involves solar photovoltaic, wind and battery energy storage system plants, with substations and transmission lines.

 

"By developing and exporting green ammonia, we aim to support international markets in their decarbonisation efforts and pave the way for a cleaner, more sustainable world," Marco Arcelli, chief executive officer of ACWA Power, said in a press release.

 

The cooperation involves a commitment from L&T to enter into an engineering, procurement, and construction contract once the final proposal is accepted. This helps the company build its EPC capabilities and ensures favourable integration of diverse renewable technologies and robust delivery on higher benchmarks for safety, quality, sustainability, and performance, it said.

 

L&T reported a consolidated net profit of INR 36.17 billion for the June quarter on consolidated revenue of INR 636.79 billion. At 1143 IST, the company's shares traded 0.4% lower at INR 3,661 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
