EIA says US natural gas stocks rise 90 bcf in the week ended Sept 12

MUMBAI – US natural gas inventory rose 90 billion cubic feet in the week ended Sept. 12, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The total inventory was 6.3% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.
The agency pegged total gas in underground storage at 3.43 trillion cubic feet as of Sept. 12, down 0.1% from 3.44 trillion cubic feet a year ago. The stocks were 204 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 3.23 trillion cubic feet, the report said.
Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. All the regions in the US such as the east, midwest, mountain, pacific, south central salt, and non-salt regions saw a rise in the inventory, according to the report. At 1244 IST, the most-active October contract of natural gas on the New York Mercantile Exchange was 0.4% lower from the previous close at $2.92 per million British thermal units. End
