--Federal Bk: Sold YES Bk shrs worth INR 3.57 bln to Sumitomo Mitsui Banking
MUMBAI – Federal Bank Ltd. has sold 166.27 million equity shares worth INR 3.57 billion in YES Bank Ltd. to Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp., the bank informed the exchanges Wednesday. The equity shares were sold at INR 21.50 per share, as per the filing.
The Reserve Bank of India had in August approved the Japanese multinational financial services company's proposal to acquire up to 24.99% of the paid-up share capital or voting rights of YES Bank. For the June quarter, YES Bank net profit had surged nearly 60% on year to INR 8.01 billion.
Wednesday, shares of Federal Bank ended 1.3% higher at INR 198.97 on the National Stock Exchange. Shares of YES Bank ended 0.7% higher at INR 21.15. End
